Changes to Overdue Penalties

Before (Until Sep. 1st, 2019) After (From Sep. 2nd, 2019)
Suspension of Privileges (overdue loan date)

For each day books are not returned past the due date, library users will receive one penalty point per item per day. When the penalty points reach 50, borrowing privilege is suspended for 14 days.

Library privileges will be suspended when materials are not returned 14 days after the due date regardless of the penalty points accrued. Privileges will be reinstated after books are returned before penalty points reach the maximum amount.

The penalty point system will be abolished.

If materials are not returned 4 days after the due date, library privileges will be suspended as follows:

 - You will not be able to borrow new materials as long as the overdue materials remain unreturned.

 - After returning materials, a one-day loan suspension will be made for every one-day delay (per item). In this case, the maximum suspension period will be 30 days.

Suspension of Privileges (If overdue books are placed on hold by another user) If another user places a hold on books that you have borrowed but that have not been returned by the due date, your library privileges will be suspended. You will not be able to borrow new materials as long as the overdue materials remain unreturned. Once overdue books are returned, your library privileges will be reinstated.
