本データベースは、マイクロ版「都道府県統計書集成」を完全デジタル化、表単位のメタデータを付与し、さらには全レコードを独自の24分類に仕分けることで、研究内容に関連する表をワンクリックで検索することが可能です。

すべてのモジュールが利用可能です。年代：明治、大正、昭和（戦前／戦後）、地域：北海道／東北、関東、中部、近畿、中国／四国、九州／沖縄。
都道府県統計書は、1883（明治16）年に当時の内務省が様式を定めたところから始まり、第二次大戦前後の一時期を除いて、全国の都道府県で今日に至るまで刊行が続けられている総括統計書です。土地、気象と言った地理的なものに始まり、人口、教育、経済、社会政策、金融、財政、行政、司法といった広範囲の研究分野に関連する数値情報を含みます。
With approximately 900,000 images, 1,500,000 records, complete in 24 modules, Prefectural Statistics Online includes statistical records published by prefectures btw c. 1873 and 1972 on a wide range of topics such as weather, land usage, demography, education, public and financial policy, local economy, and more.
