Description

  • <Corporate Financial Data>
    Corporate financial data (quarterly base - listed companies) based on TANSHIN/YUHO report and Nikkei's original survay is stored. Coverage:Listed companies (inc. JASDAQ), unlisted companies disclosing their YUHO report and Shinkin Banks.
  • <Stock Price and Indicators>
    Prices, attributes, and related index data for stocks (including new shares and preference shares) listed on stock exchanges in Japan.
  • <Unlisted Bond Prices and Yields>
    Data on attributes, reference quotation statistics on OTC bonds released by JSDA.
  • <Foreign exchange and Interest Rates>
    Daily market data such as those on foreign exchange markets, money markets, bond markets in Tokyo, New York, London, etc., which are placed on the Nihon Keizai Shimbun (Nikkei) newspapers.
  • <Commodity Market Prices> 
    Data on commodity prices and index values for natural resources and raw materials such as energy, metals, grains, semiconductors, etc.
  • <Macroeconomic Data>
    Major macroeconomic data which are necessary to analyze domestic economy.
  • <Industrial Data>
    Extensive data on industrial statistics that are essential to analyzing industrial activities the foundation of an economy.
  • <Regional Economic Data>
    Data on regional data, such as square measure, population/household, industry, finance/income, life/culture, and housing price/land price.

* Please note that any codes which do not appear on the Selection list of Database after log-in are unavailable, because they are out of contract.

How to use

Click "Nikkei NEEDS-FinancialQUEST" on the login page(available on Campus network ONLY) of "Waseda e-Resource Portal" and the application will be downloaded and the platform of "Financial QUEST 2.0" will open. (Click "実行 /Run" when asked "このアプリケーションを実行しますか?/Do you run the application?"). Click 'FinancialQUESTを起動' button to start. (No ID/PWD is required because you will access the database with IP connection.) After use, be sure to logout with 'File'-'Exit' on the Menu bar. 
To change the language mode (Japanese/English), click 'Environment' button on the left, choose a language mode, click 'OK,' then logout with 'File'- 'Exit' and restart.
*Please note that "Excel adin" is not available with IP connection.

 Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 or after, Microsoft Excel 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019(*Excel is optional. NEEDS FinancialQUEST works without Excel.)

■Operating authority
 There are no restrictions. You don't have to have administrator privileges to use this software. However, you need to download the software for each user on the same PC.
■About 'ClickOnce'
 It is a NET Framework developed by Microsoft to distribute and update software.Clickonce is required to be downloaded for each user on the same PC.
■About the Microsoft Edge browser
 Microsoft's new Chromium-based browser, Microsoft Edge, was released on January 15, 2020.  When you updat to the new Chromium-based browser, you will no longer be able to launch FQ applications using "ClickOnce." Please follow the steps below to change your browser settings.
 Please change the setting of your browser according to the following procedure.

1. Launch "Microsoft Edge" and type "edge://flags/#edge-click-once" in the address bar. 2.
 Change the setting of "ClickOnce Support" to "enabled".
2. Click the "Restart" button to restart the system.
3. Click the "Restart" button and reboot.
