明治35年（1902）から大正9年（1920）まで、19年間にわたって刊行された『美術新報』は、日本の近代美術をはじめ、広く近代文化に関心を寄せる者にとって、重要な情報が掲載された雑誌である。収録された記事は、当時の日本を中心としながらも、古今東西の絵画・彫刻・工芸・書道などや、その作家の事績や評判・動向までが不偏不党のジャーナリズム精神の立場で編集・掲載されている。

Published for 19 years from 1902 to 1920, “Bijutsu Shimpo” was a magazine that carried important information for those interested in Japanese modern art and other aspects of modern culture at large.The articles are edited and published in the spirit of unbiased journalism, focusing on Japan at that time, but also on paintings, sculpture, crafts, calligraphy, and other art forms from the East and West, as well as the artists' achievements, reputations, and trends.

  • 明治・大正期の近代画家・文人や展覧会等の動向を探る貴重・詳細な記録・彙報欄記事（約1万1千件）をデータベース化
  • A total of approximately 23,000 search data in all 300 issues of Bijutsu Shimpo, 7,348 pages.
  • Database of valuable and detailed records and bulletin column articles (about 11,000 items) on modern painters, literary figures, exhibitions, etc. in the Meiji and Taisho periods.
