『史料纂集』は日本の歴史・文化研究で必須の重要史料を、使いやすく文字起こし（翻刻）した一大史料集成です。古記録編と古文書編から成り、古代から近世の、公家の日記から武士や僧侶・神官の日記まで、さまざまな時代・ジャンルの重要史料を翻刻しています。特に研究上必須のものでありながら、未刊に終っていた各時代の重要史料を中心に編纂されています。その翻刻は「大日本古記録」「大日本古文書」とともに、学界で最も信頼のおけるテキストとして評価され、現在まで267冊を刊行しています（古記録編215冊、古文書編52冊。2023年4月現在）。
The "Shiryo Sanshu" is a large collection of historical materials that are easy to use and reprinted of important historical materials that are essential for the study of Japanese history and culture. Consisting of an ancient record section and an ancient document section, it transcribes important historical materials from various eras and genres, from ancient times to modern times, from the diaries of court nobles to the diaries of samurai, monks, and priests. It has been compiled with a focus on important historical materials from each era that are essential for research but have remained unpublished. Its transcriptions, along with ``Dainippon Kokiroku'' and ``Dainippon Komonosho,'' are regarded as the most reliable texts in the academic world, and 267 volumes have been published to date (215 books in Kokiroku and 52 in Komonosho).
